BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK
The park entrance is approx. 8 miles from the Roost (Chisos Visitors center is approx 32 miles). Don't forget to bring your passport and visit our friends in the small Mexican town of Boquillas (official crossing inside the park) ride a burro down the short dirt road into town, drink some tequila, eat some tacos, buy some souvenirs--an amazing day trip-- and stop at the hot springs on your way back!
BIG BEND RANCH STATE PARK
Big Bend Ranch State Park is a 311,000-acre state park located on the Rio Grande in Brewster and Presidio counties, Texas. It is the largest state park in Texas. Enjoy hiking and mountain bike trails, horseback riding, river access, and stargazing. Entrance and Barton Warnock visitors center is 10 miles west of the Roost.
